Ericka Thompson was born June 24, 1984, the daughter of the late Johnnie Mae Wallace Thompson and James “J.C. Thompson. She was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, in Columbia, South Carolina.
Ms. Queen as she was affectionately called, was educated and attended Richland One Public Schools. She was employed with Palmetto Health Richland Hospital where she worked in environmental services.
She enjoyed life and loving on her grandson, cooking, shopping, hanging out with friends, and playing BINGO. Though she is no longer physically with us, her loving and kind spirit will forever live in the hearts and lives of all who loved and knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Montrez D. Jones; and brothers, James Thompson Jr. and Robert Myers.
Those who will forever cherish fond and precious memories of Ericka are her son, Markayvicis Jones; grandson, Zion Kayvicis Jones; special niece, Ja’Nyla Johnson; brothers, Ukebia Elleby, Craig Thompson, James Thompson, Sr., Richard (Vicki Sims) Myers, Jermaine Myers and Thomas Myers; sisters, Taneshia Myers, Verneta (Reginald) Turnipseed, Laconia Thompson and Shonte Williams; a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom join the family in sharing the grief caused by her departure.
