Yvonne D. Thomas was born on August 8, 1963 in Richland County. She was the beloved daughter of Athel Dukes, Sr. and the late Anne Pearl Mack Dukes. She passed away on July 19, 2016.

Yvonne was a graduate of Eau Claire High School and was formerly employed at the Midlands Center.  She attended Greater Faith Assembly Church.  Yvonne lived her life around her grandchildren who were the center of her world. 

Yvonne was preceded in death by: her mother, Annie Pearl Mack-Dukes; her sister, Naomi Yarborough; her daughter, Teacora Thomas; and her nephew, Tyrone Jamison.

She leaves to cherish her memories: three daughters: Juanita (Fred) Parker of Chesapeake, Virginia, Renessa (Devonta) Thomas-Hampton and Portia Thomas; eleven grandchildren:  Akiem, Evian, Devin, Jania, Chase, Alexis, Kara, Keyon, Melody, Aaliyah and Alyssa, all of Columbia, South Carolina; her father; Athel Dukes, Sr.; two sisters, Blondie (Darren) Spann and Teresa Dukes; four brothers: Edward Sutton, Henry, Athel Jr. and Anthony Dukes, all of Columbia, Carolina; her best friend, Michelle Riley of Spartanburg, South Carolina; Godparents; uncle and aunt, Walter and Vivan Dukes, also of Columbia, South Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
