Yvonne was born April 7, 1953 in Columbia, South Carolina. She was the beloved daughter of the late Collis and Joe Ella New Scott, Sr.  She passed away on August 18, 2016 at Lexington Medical Center in West Columbia, South Carolina. She was 63.

“Cootie,” as she was affectionately known, graduated from Spring Valley High School in Richland District Two. She worked for many years at Midlands Technical College and Walmart until her health began to fail. She was formerly married to Willie James Howell. Their union was blessed with four children.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Yvonne was predeceased by: her parents, Collis and Joe Ella Scott, Sr.; her sister and brother-in-law, Gregory and Elveretta Smith; her sister-in-law, Lauretta Scott; and her former husband, Willie James Howell, Sr.

Left to cherish her precious memories are: her loving companion of 34 years, Donnie Bracey; her children: Wendy (Thomas) Howell Ford of Columbia, South Carolina, Tara (Terry) Howell of West Columbia, South Carolina, Tina (Charles) Howell and Willie James (Tamika) Howell, Jr., both of Columbia, South Carolina; two brothers, Collis Scott of Columbia, South Carolina and Alphonso Scott of Mesa, Arizona; a sister, Jances A. Hallamon of Columbia, South Carolina; nine grandchildren; two expected great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.
