On the evening of June 7, 2017, Wilhelmina peacefully passed away at Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia, South Carolina. She was being visited and comforted by family and friends at the time of her passing. She was 71 years old.

Wilhelmina was born December 24, 1945 in Columbia, South Carolina to Alice and the late William Joseph Bratton, Sr.  She was the eldest of her five sisters and three brothers; the mother of four children; and the grandmother of three beautiful granddaughters.

Wilhelmina was an amazing wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was an excellent example and an inspiration to all that knew her. She was the most generous and selfless person, always encouraging others to be the best they could be. She was also a dedicated and loyal employee at Palmetto Health Richland for 45 years.

She was predeceased by her father, William Bratton, Sr., and brother, Ricky.

Wilhelmina was dearly loved; and her memories are cherished by her husband, Daniel Edwards; her mother, Alice Bratton; sons: Willie Jr., Ronald and Curtis Collins; daughter, Princetta (Jeffrey) James; stepdaughter, Rochelle Edwards; and grandchildren: Danielle, Victoria and Olivia James. She also leaves to mourn her passing her sisters: Doris, Andrina, Geraldine, Renay and Josetta; brothers, William Jr. and Alphonso; and a host of other loving relatives and friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.
