Cremation

Satwant Kaur was born on April 13th, 1951, in the village of Mansurpor, Punjab. Born into a large family, she grew up with her 11 brothers and sisters, beloved by all of them and as her parent’s favorite child.

She had a well-received education, graduating up to secondary school during a time when women were not expected to be educated. After her education, she was married at a young age to S. Amar Singh in Talwandi Daddian. Here she had five loving children whom she raised with love and care. She was always an honest and humble mother, spending all of her time raising her children during a difficult period.

Along with her hardworking and kind-hearted attitude, she always devoted herself to worshipping God as a proud Sikh. She would wake up early in the morning every day and pray at the Gurudwara and return at dusk for the evening prayer.

While raising her kids, she suffered from major illnesses, but through her positive attitude and devotion to God, she recovered fully and continued to give love and care to all her children. Her children are now well settled in their lives and admire her hard efforts and dedication towards them

However, she faced yet another adversity that truly devastated her, the passing of her Husband in 2005. She recovered from her deep sorrows and pains with a stronger faith in God, an understanding about the truth of life, and a strengthened will. She moved to the United States in 2014 to be closer to her three children in South Carolina, where she brought happiness to both them and their families.

She had finally found peace in herself and started living her life with happiness. Unfortunately, life gave her another challenge and she suffered a stroke in early 2015, which she recovered from very quickly through God’s Blessings. Recently, she suffered another major stroke on December 3rd and has now left this world and has headed towards God’s home. She will be forever missed by all of her loved ones. We all pray that God gives her soul eternal rest and peace.
