Mr. Ransom “Ramp” Givines, Jr. was born October 25, 1963 in Columbia, South Carolina. He was the son of the late Ransom Sr. and Alice Givines. He departed this life to be with the Lord on April 25, 2017 at his home.

“Ramp,” as he was affectionately called, was educated in Richland County District One public schools. He attended A.C. Flora High School where he ran track and cross country, gaining the title as the number one runner in the state’s 3A division.

Mr. Givines was a loving and outgoing person. He gave his life to Christ at an early age and served faithfully at Bethlehem Baptist Church (Lyon Street). Ramp was a loving son, brother, dad, grandfather and friend. Throughout his journey of life, he touched the lives of many, both young and old. His loving spirit will be remembered by all who loved and knew him.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Givines was predeceased by his sister, Mrs. Deborah Ann Morris, and his brother, Mr. Kenneth Murray.

Those left to cherish his fond and precious memories are: his loving daughters, Razina Addison and Kiesh Givines; three sisters: Patricia Murray, Gwendolyn Winters and Elizabeth Givines; and one brother Lester Murray, all of Columbia, South Carolina. He also leaves one granddaughter; five nephews and eight nieces; five grandnephews and four grandnieces; a cousin and caregiver, Antonio Jackson, all of Columbia, South Carolina; and a host of loving relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
