Minnie was born July 26, 1948 in Eastover, South Carolina to the late Roland Wilson and Mary Ellen Rivers. She was raised by her adoptive parents, the late Sam and Emma Taylor. Minnie passed away on May 13, 2017 at the age of 68.

She worked in the food services industry for most of her life. She loved to cook and serve others! She enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, fishing and spending time with her family.

Minnie was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Her kind and loving spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her biological and adoptive parents, Minnie was also predeceased by three sisters: Mary Lucas, Bessie Rivers and Joan Nixon; her brother, Sam Taylor, Jr.; and her son, Nathaniel Taylor.

She leaves to cherish precious memories: her daughters, Trish Manigault, Sharon Lights, Nicole Lights and Angela (Jimmy) Carney; her son, Matthew Lights; her adopted daughter, Camaro (Marlon) Hodge; sisters: Mae Frances Bostic-Moye, Ann Belton and Emma Louise Reese; brothers, George Rivers and James Taylor; 21 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and dear friends.
