Loretta B. Campbell
February 5, 1946 ~ January 9, 2018 (age 71) 71 Years OldLoretta Butler Campbell was born February 5, 1946 in Charleston, South Carolina. She was the beloved only child of the late Lillie Mae Roundtree. She departed this life on December 9, 2018 at Heartland of Columbia, South Carolina, surrounded by family and friends.
She was educated in public schools of Charleston County. “Retta,” as she was affectionately known, was a housewife and homemaker, both of which she loved to do. She took great pride in taking care of her family and home.
Loretta and Joseph Alonzo Butler reared their only child with love and devotion. She was often teased about being “a classy diva,” even though she was confined to a wheelchair. was a lifelong resident of Charleston’s east side, until her health declined and her son moved her to Gadsden, South Carolina to be near family. Retta had a beautiful smile that was loved and will be truly missed by all who adored and knew her.
She leaves to cherish precious memories, her only son, James (Della) Butler; grandchildren: Willie (Lynn) Shiver, Terrance Green, James (Dhandra) Butler, Palacio Shiver and Asia Butler; six great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Dora B. Seagar; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by a grandson, Antwan Green
