Larry Jones was born on November 18, 1950 in Columbia, South Carolina to the late John Knox and Jesse Guinyard. He peacefully transitioned to his heavenly home on June 15, 2016 at Providence Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina.

He was educated in the public schools of Richland County. Larry was loved and highly respected by all who knew him. He was compassionate and would help others whenever her could.

Larry was an avid reader and was known to spend much of his free time at the public library. He especially loved to read The State newspaper, USA Today and The New York Times to keep abreast of current events.

Larry worked as a general laborer and construction worker and was employed at Owen Mills in Columbia for many years.

Larry Jones was preceded in death by his father, John Knox and mother, Jessie Guinyard.

He leaves to cherish is precious memories: his wife, Pauline L. Jones; son, Aaron Jones; daughter, Natoria Jones; sister, Shirley Mayers; brothers, James (Mickey) Gibson and Cleveland Jones; niece, Jessica Mayers; nephew, Lenard Mayers, Jr.; and a host of other loving relatives and friends, all whom will miss him dearly.
