Mrs. Josephine S. Navarro was born January 27, 1942 in Columbia, South Carolina., She was the second of eight children born to the late Willie and Annie Green Smith. She departed this life on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at Providence Health, surrounded by family and friends.

She was educated in the public schools of Richland County, South Carolina. She retired from the University of South Carolina where she was rewarded for her outstanding work ethic. Josephine was a member of Bethel Pentecostal Church.

She was predeceased by her parents, Willie and Annie Smith, and her husband, Ulysses Robinson. Though physically she is no longer with us, her loving and kind spirit will forever live in the hearts and lives of all who loved and knew her.

Left to cherish fond and precious memories are: two sons, Arnold and John Smith of Columbia, South Carolina; four daughters: Pamela D. Smith of Hopkins, South Carolina, Rosita Navarro Saunders of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Consuelo and Michelle Navarro of Puerto Rico; ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; four brothers, Henry, Roosevelt, Earvin and James Smith, all of Columbia, South Carolina; three sisters: Maggie Hill of Connecticut, Willie M. Smith of Columbia, South Carolina and Annie Mae Thomas of Norfolk, Virginia; many in-laws, other loving relatives and caring friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.
