John Barksdale Jr., 50, of 101 Flora Way, Columbia, South Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at Providence Hospital. John was born in New York to the late John Barksdale, Sr. and Ellen Lynn.

John was preceded in death by Clarence Lynn and Priscilla.

Left to cherish fond and loving memories are: his companion, Judy Jones; son, Demorte’ (Turquoise Watson) Spell-Diamond; adopted mother, Bettie Morris; seven siblings: Joyce Casanova, Elsie Prince, Delores Lynn of New York, Celestine Lynn of North Carolina, Lovey Morris of Japan, Dave Ranger of Florida and David Morris of New York City; loving aunt, Nellie Wray; one grandson, Avery Spell-Diamond, and a host of nieces, nephews, and special loved ones.
