On Friday, September 23, 2016 at 8:23 a.m. at the age of 62, Ireesa passed away in a peaceful sleep at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital from complications from kidney disease. She was predeceased by her parents, Reed and Marvin Harrison Brown, and her two siblings, Elijah and Elroy Brown.

Ireesa will be fondly remembered by her family and friends as a kind and loving soul. She had a unique interest in the arts. Her life goal was to become an accomplished actor. She graduated from South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts. She never fulfilled her goal because she became ill shortly after graduation.

Her loving and devoted cousin, Gertie (COL (Ret.) Ira) Snell of Columbia, Maryland, was appointed as Ireesa’s legal guardian and conservator by the South Carolina Probate Court thirteen years ago. Ireesa leaves behind many relatives and friends who will miss her.
