Mrs. Erveneze Jackson Bowman, quietly and peacefully, answered the call on Friday, December 29, 2017 at PruittHealth Center in Blythewood, South Carolina.

She was born June 18, 1922 in Columbia, South Carolina. Erveneze was the daughter of the late John Perry Jackson and Carrie Allen Jackson, and wife of the late Samuel Bowman.

Erveneze was educated in the parochial schools of Richland County, South Carolina. In 1968, during her earlier years, she became a Certified Nursing Assistant. She was then employed at the Rikard Nursing Facility in Lexington, South Carolina and at the Piney Grove Nursing Home in Columbia.

Mrs. Bowman was a lifelong member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Irmo, South Carolina.

There were many things about her life that made our mother, Erveneze, stand out: she was a Christian; a dear sister and grandmother; a favorite auntie; a mother in times of need; and a trusting, close friend to all.

In addition to her parents and husband, Erveneze was predeceased by her son, Marvin A. Jackson, Sr.; two brothers, Ulysses and Alvin Jackson; two sisters, Willie Lee Jackson and Isabell R. Jackson; and a son-in-law, Reverend Dr. Calvin Mills, Sr.

Those left to cherish her memories are two daughters, Rondolyn W. Mills of Orange Park, Florida and Barbara A. (Benjamin) Winder of Columbia, South Carolina; a daughter-in-law, Ida M. Jackson of Columbia, South Carolina; a nephew, Warren D. Jackson of Columbia, South Carolina; and a host of other relatives and friends, all of whom will miss her bright spirit.
