Mrs. Ernestine Alonzo Ella Craft Green was born April 26, 1948 in Columbia, South Carolina. She was the beloved daughter of the late Robert Sr. and Josephine Nelson Craft. After a brief illness, she departed this life for eternal rest with the Lord on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at her residence in Columbia with loved ones.
“Mama Green,” as she was affectionately called by family and friends, attended the public schools of Richland County and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1966.
Ernestine was also predeceased by her husband, James Thomas Green, Sr.; two brothers, Leonard and Larry Craft; and a sister, Joan Jones.
Those left to cherish Ernestine’s warm and precious memories are her six, loving and devoted children: Zalander, James Jr., Jamey, Belinda, Joseph and Jeremy Green, all of Columbia, South Carolina; two stepsons, Bruce Ace and Reginald Crumpton; a loving sister, Vivian (Robert) Young of Oxon Hill, Maryland; two brothers, Robert (Hilda) Craft, Jr. and Charles N. Craft, Sr., both of Columbia, South Carolina; an adopted brother, Chestley Price; a brother-in-law, Samuel (Vermell) Green; twenty grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and other loving relative and dear friends, all of whom join the family in sharing the grief caused by her departure, but rejoice in her homegoing.
