Emanuel J. Bryson

Emanuel Jerome Bryson was born on January 18, 1952 in Grenville, SC.  Sunday night, April 15, 2018 surrounded by his loving wife and family, God called him to heaven to live with Him.

Emanuel was a faithful member of Bible Way Church of Atlas Road in Columbia, SC.  There at Bible Way, he was a faithful member of the Men’s Ministry and the Military Support Group. He also sang with the Men’s Choir and served as an Usher.

Emanuel served as Deacon at Columbia Christian Fellowship and Temple Zion Baptist Church in past years. Emanuel served as President of the Home Owner’s Association and Vice President of the Crime Watch Association in his community. He also was a faithful volunteer at the community daycare. He served in the United States Armed Forces and retired after 18 years of faithful service.

Emanuel leaves to cherish precious memories his devoted and loving wife of 30 years, Hedy S. Bryson of the home; two sons, Donovan J. (Perry) Bryson of Boston, Mass, Johnathan Bryson of Columbia, SC; daughters: Catina (Frank) Rice of Greenville, SC, Hannah C. Bryson, Jessica E. (William) Bryson-Santos, and Rachel M. Bryson, all of Columbia, SC; sisters: Geraldine B. (Austin) Austin, Barbara (Mackey) Morris, Linda Babb; brothers: Richard (Zettie Mae) Bryson, Terry (Lois) Babb, Bobby (Teresa) Babb, Kerry Dwight, and Dennis Bryson. He will, also, be missed by his loving grandchildren: Kaelyn, Jayden, Alanna-Rose, Emily, Carsen, Levi, Macie, Frank, Jr., and Caleb.
