Edward Clifton

Edward Clifton was born April 15, 1932, to the late Furman and Pattie Clifton of Arcadia Florida. He answered God's call on March 9, 2018.

At an early age, he gave his life to Christ at Samaria Missionary Baptist Church of Springfield SC and was later united with Zion Baptist Church in Columbia, SC.

Edward attended Orangeburg County Schools.  He was employed by Colonial Stores for many years where he later retired.

He was united in holy matrimony to the late Anna Chitty-Clifton.  This union was blessed with three children. Loving memories will forever linger in the hearts of his daughters: Michelle Clifton-Coone (Glen) Arcadia FL, Angela L. Clifton Columbia, SC; son Edwin Clifton (Deceased); four granddaughters: Michelle Clifton, Angela Q. Clifton both of Columbia, SC, Jacqueline R Robertson (Edward) of Asheville, NC and Pattie Clifton-Hart (Darrius) of Columbia, SC; five great grandchildren: Alaya D. Clifton of Columbia, SC, Dextric D. Thompson-Clifton of San Antonio, TX, Terryon Johnson and Darrius Hart Jr. both of Columbia, SC; one great-great granddaughter: Ariana S. Williams; three sisters and six brothers: Furman Clifton (Edna), Gussie Jamison Thurmond (Deceased) both of Columbia, SC, Henry Clifton (Rena) of Arcadia, FL, Betty Smith (Perry), Patty Ackerman both of Columbia, SC, James Clifton of San Antonio, TX, Robbie Clifton (Brenda), Herman Clifton, and Robert Clifton (Patricia) all of Arcadia, FL.

His loving and devoted companion Emily Mickle of Columbia, SC and Two longtime friends Felton Goodwin, and James Williams both of Columbia, SC.
