Mrs. Earlene Wilson Kenley was born September 7, 1942 in Columbia, South Carolina. She was the second child of the late Ervin Eugene Mitchell and Janie McDaniel Mitchell. Mrs. Kenley quietly departed this life and transitioned into the glorious presence of our Lord, Jesus Christ, on November 3, 2017.

She was educated in the public schools of Richland County, South Carolina. Sister Kenley was employed with the University of South Carolina for 10 years and Benedict College for 17 years.  She loved to sing! Earline sang with the Spirit of Life Gospel Group from an early age. The group also recorded several records. She traveled with many famous gospel groups, including the Reverend Shirley Caesar.

Earline was married to the late Walter Kenley of Columbia, South Carolina. She was a great jokester and kept everyone with laughter in their hearts. She loved her grandchildren with a great passion.

Earline Wilson Kenley was preceded in death by her son, Larry Mitchell; sisters, Barbara Jones and Ruby Mitchell Buchanan; and brothers, Marion and Eugene Mitchell.

Those who will forever cherish the precious memories of Mrs. Kenley are her son, Earl Todd Wilson; her loving grandchildren: Brittany Matthews, Earl Todd Wilson, Jr., and Rashawn Matthews: seven siblings: Dorothy (Eugene) Williams, Deborah Shuler, Helen (Ricky) Johnson, Jenny Green, Martin (Edna) Mitchell, Robert (Betty) Mitchell, and Carl (Sheila) Mitchell; a special friend, Casper Corbitt; and a host of other loving relatives and friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.
