Corey Jamar Edwards was born February 12, 1988 to Carolyn Green Edwards and the late Charlie J. Edwards. He departed this life on May 16, 2017 at Palmetto Health Baptist in Columbia, South Carolina, following a brief illness.

He attended the public schools of Richland County, graduating from Eau Claire High School in 2006. Corey was a dedicated employee of Ashapurima, LLC in Columbia.

A lifelong resident of Columbia and pillar of the Eau Claire Community, Corey was always willing to help anyone in need. He enjoyed worshipping at Cleaves Memorial CME Church under the leadership of Reverend Dr. Doris L. Hicks.

He was predeceased by his father, Charlie Edwards; paternal grandparents, Henry and Ruthie Lee Ross Edwards; maternal grandparents, James and Minnie Anderson Green; his brother, Marvin Green; and his sister, Charlene Edwards.

To cherish his precious memories, he leaves his son, Charlie Jamar “CJ” Edwards; his mother, Carolyn Green Edwards; brothers: Chad (Joyce) Edwards, Travis Edwards (Andrea Gadson) and Joshua Edwards (Tiffany Smith), all of Columbia, South Carolina; and sisters, Patricia E. (Lamont) Bethel of Columbia, South Carolina and Rhonda G. (Keith) Dantzler of Gadsden, South Carolina. Corey also leaves to mourn his passing: six nephews: Terell Bethel, Antwan Crosby, Jaqwan Crosby, Willie Crosby, V, Chrishawn Thompson and Travis Edwards, Jr.; six nieces: Tasha Edwards, Tawana Bethel, MaKala Green, Christiana Bracy, Ivoryana Edwards and Talasia Edwards; a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and other loving relatives; and special friends: Khadijah Caldwell, Angie Canty, Daniel Jamison, Byron “Big B” Kelly, Dale Manaiza, William Clark and a faithful comforter, Tina Bennette, all of whom will miss him dearly.
