Mother Carrie Pringle Lawton, daughter of the late Janie Mae Cunningham and James Stone was born April 29, 1952 in Chapin, South Carolina.

Mother Carrie attended Chapin High School in Chapin, South Carolina. She was employed by Carolina Inn and Elite Epicurean Café for 13 years and later by Palmetto Health for 14 years.

She got saved February 3, 1993, at the home of Mother Louise Manigo. She attended and was a founding member of Kingston Road Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ. She served locally and statewide on the Choir and Usher Boards. She was president of the Pulpit Aide Committee and secretary of the Sunday School Department.

Mother Carrie leaves to cherish her precious memories her husband, James Lawton; daughters: Jackie Perry, Arlene Wilson, and Krystal Martin; her grandchildren, Kyrek Woods and Blake Wilson; god-sisters, Gussie and Freda Bouknight; uncle, Thomas Stone; three aunts: Betty Sue Kinard, Essie Mae Stone, and Eloise Coleman; brother-in-law, Bobby (Vanessa) Lawton, and sisters-in-law: Carolyn Rice, Obbie (Joe) Hicks, Lenora (Raymond) Burke, Mary Anne Lawton, Gloria Bouknight, and Frances Ann Stone; and a host of family and friends.
