Bobby Wicker
June 26, 1934 ~ September 25, 2016 (age 82) 82 Years OldMr. Bobby Wicker passed away peacefully to meet his Lord and savior on September 25, 2016 at Stone Pavilion, C.M. Tucker Nursing Center, Columbia, South Carolina, at the age of 82.
Mr. Wicker was born on June 26, 1934 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He relocated to Pomaria, South Carolina at an early age, where he remained until shortly before entering the United States Army. He served in the Korean War and received the United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with two bronze stars and the United Defense Medal. He was also awarded The Combat Infantry Badge and received training as a paratrooper. He received an honorable discharge and transitioned to civilian life where he worked at various duties.
Later in life, Bobby met and was married Emma Freeman, and was married a few short years prior to her death.
Mr. Wicker loved the Lord and attended various churches. His favorite pastime was going to the Columbia Township Auditorium to listen to the gospel jubilees and watching wrestling on television.
Mr. Wicker was predeceased by his wife, Emma Freeman Wicker; his mother, Mable Wicker Singletary, and his sisters, Theresa Wicker Earle and Aaranell Singletary Martin. He is survived by his sister, Marilyn Singletary Smith of Cleveland, Ohio; his nieces: Patricia Smith of Stockton California, Brenda (Harold) Love of Cleveland, Ohio, Mildred (Anthony) Evans, Magnolia (Benjamin) Baskett, both of Columbia, South Carolina, and Audrey (Charles) Mitchell of Chesapeake, Virginia; and a nephew, Michael Smith of Cleveland, Ohio.
