Mrs. Hampton was born October 28, 1935 to the late General Clark and Ethel Lee Clark in Columbia, South Carolina.  Her earthly journey ended on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 in the comfort of her home.

Mrs. Hampton graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1953. She earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Benedict College and a master’s degree in education from South Carolina State University. Mrs. Hampton retired from Richland County School District One after teaching for nearly four decades. She also taught piano at her home for many years and was the organist for Saint Mark Baptist Church in Gadsden, South Carolina for over 30 years.

Mrs. Hampton is survived by her daughter, Olivia Hampton of Hopkins, SC; a son, Joseph Clark Hampton and a granddaughter, Geneva Harrison Hampton, both of Greensboro, NC; a sister, Ella Mae Clark Guinyard of Columbia; and a host of many loving relatives and friends.
