Praise and glory to God! Heaven is finally my Home! What a day of rejoicing! No more sickness, pain, sorrow, heartache or disappointment; only love, joy, peace and most of all, everlasting life with my Lord and Savior.

On Saturday, July 15, 2017, God sent his angels to quietly escort me to my new home, the one He had prepared for me. I have truly arrived in paradise; and rest assured it is well with my soul.

Now that you know I’m fine, let me take you on a little journey of my life. I was born September 17, 1939 in Calhoun City, Mississippi, the youngest of six children of the late Llevyon and Susie Lee Sims Tubbs. I lived there until junior high. I moved to Glenn Allen, Mississippi where I completed my education at Mayersville High School.

I spent most of my life in Greenville, Mississippi where I faithfully worked and served God and my community. From years of working with the head start program to 17 years at Vlasic Pickles, my infectious spirit was known to many.

My personal relationship with Christ began at a young age at Church of God in Christ in Hollandale, Mississippi. Later in Greenville, I joined Zion Baptist Church and served until my health began to decline.

I was affectionately known as “Momma”, “Grandma”, “Granny”, “God-mommy” and “Auntie”.

I leave to cherish so many beautiful memories and special moments: my four children: Eric (Trina) Tubbs of Tupelo, Mississippi, Detria (Errol) Critchlow of Charleston, South Carolina; Jacqueline (Stanley) Williams of Columbia, South Carolina and LaTonia Bowie of Duluth, Georgia; my two bonus children, Joyce (Roosevelt) Harris of Chicago, Illinois and Veronica (Jackie) Robinson of Tacoma, Washington; and 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. I also leave my loving sister, Kennie Anderson of Cleveland, Ohio, and brother, Lenard Tubbs of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; and a host of specials nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

To my family, friends and acquaintances, I am so excited about my new home. I can’t wait to see you all here with me. I pray the love, sharing and caring I have shown you allows you to impact others on your journey through life.
